Skinport vs CSFloat: Seller Fees, Payouts, Delivery

CSFloat is a strong research route for exact item attributes and a low nominal public sale fee. Skinport’s public fee tiers or private sale can suit a different buyer/seller workflow. Choose only after matching the item, establishing payout access and comparing realistic net proceeds.

Give each venue a realistic sale price

Example of an ordinary public sale: Skinport completes at $200 with an 8% fee, leaving $184 before any other applicable cost. CSFloat completes at $195 with a 2% sale fee, leaving $191.10, then a 1.5% withdrawal leaves $188.2335, approximately $188.23. CSFloat leads by $4.23 in this example despite the lower gross sale price.

That is a comparison of net receipts, not a recommendation based on fee alone. Using the same charges, CSFloat’s break-even gross price is $184 ÷ (0.98 × 0.985), approximately $190.6143. A higher sale price wins before any unmodelled charges; a lower one loses. Currency conversion and payout costs can move the boundary.

The same skin name is not the same item

Before trusting those prices, match finish, wear, float, pattern, StatTrak status and relevant stickers. CSFloat exposes attributes that help isolate a precise specimen. A generic average may be adequate for an ordinary liquid skin but can miss a premium craft. For an unusual item, compare relevant actual listings or sales rather than forcing it into the example.

Choose your delivery responsibility

CSFloat’s P2P route requires the seller to respond and deliver. Its public pages conflict on the universal delivery deadline, so the actual order countdown controls. Receiving the item and releasing the seller’s proceeds remain separate: current FAQ text describes around eight days before proceeds are available.

Skinport’s older official explanation describes custody bots and checkout. That may suit someone who prefers a listing held by the venue rather than a seller coordinating each buyer trade. That description dates from April 2021, so check today’s protection, return and bank rules in your account before transferring an item.

Change the model for a private buyer

A Skinport private sale at the same $200 and 2% leaves $196 before other costs. That is a different scenario because you already have the buyer; do not use it to promise public-sale proceeds. Compare it with the same agreed buyer route, and include the work of arranging that buyer.

For the full workflows, read Skinport’s review and CSFloat’s review. Resolve country, identity checks and payment method first. A theoretical fee saving does not help if your account cannot complete the chosen payout.

Method and limitations

Based on Skinport’s July 2025 fee announcement, CSFloat’s public FAQ and both venues’ published workflows; prices and the 1.5% withdrawal rate are example inputs.
