Live expected value
For every case we price each possible drop across markets, weight it by official drop rates and wear distribution (incl. the 10% StatTrak™ roll), and compare against case + key cost.
Prices are estimates. Check the exact item, fees and available offers before a trade.
Every CS2 case ranked by live expected return — drop prices across markets, official odds, wear distribution and the StatTrak™ roll, versus case + key cost. Today's least-punishing case is Gamma 2 Case at -39.0% expected return. No case is profitable on average: this tier list shows where you lose the least, refreshed automatically several times a day.

Tiers follow expected return per dollar: S-tier keeps the most value, D-tier the least. Every tier is still a loss on average — no case is +EV.
Case prices, key parity and drop prices move constantly. A case can climb or fall a tier when its jackpot knife spikes or the case price itself rallies.
None are profitable on average. The best cases right now return roughly 60 cents per dollar spent — this page ranks which cases lose the least, refreshed automatically from live prices.
The odds are fixed by Valve and the vast majority of drops are cheap Mil-Spec skins. The key cost pushes the math further against you, so the expected value of an opening is always below the cost of the case plus key.
Almost always. If you want a specific skin, buying it on a marketplace costs a known amount; opening cases for it means paying roughly 1.6–3× its expected value in randomness. Open cases for fun, buy skins for value.
Prices refresh several times a day from the lowest live multi-market quote per item. Tier boundaries are fixed return bands, so a case can move between tiers as case, key and drop prices shift.
