A Souvenir skin is a frozen keepsake of a single Counter-Strike Major match — dusted with gold stickers for the event, the teams and the players who were on the server that day. They drop only while a Major is running, then the tap shuts off forever, which is why the best of them command jaw-dropping prices.
Where Souvenir skins come from
Souvenir skins drop exclusively from Souvenir packages tied to CS Major tournaments — you cannot unbox them from any regular case. Every one carries gold event stickers commemorating the tournament, the two teams and the players from the specific match the package represents.
That provenance is the whole appeal: a Souvenir is effectively a trading card for a moment of competitive history. The Major sticker hubs map which events and teams a given drop belongs to.
Capped supply, and the illiquidity trap
Packages for a given Major stop existing the moment the event ends, so Souvenir supply is permanently capped — no more will ever enter circulation. Iconic collection skins ride that scarcity to enormous premiums over their normal versions; the AWP Dragon Lore from the Cobblestone collection is the definitive example.
But scarcity alone is not value. Souvenirs of unpopular skins can trade near or even below the normal price because the market for them is thin and illiquid. Never assume a Souvenir is a premium — compare pair by pair on our Souvenir premium table before you buy or sell.
The rules that shape Souvenir value
Souvenir is mutually exclusive with StatTrak — a skin is one or the other, never both — and Souvenir items cannot be fed into trade-up contracts. That leaves their worth purely collectible, driven by four things: scarcity, the event, the stickers and the collection.
